Movie Night: St. Rita of Cascia

Famous as the patron of hopeless situations, St. Rita of Cascia, a beautiful woman who lived in Italy in the fourteenth century, is immortalized in this wonderful, deeply moving film. Her story combines high drama, great love, deep betrayal, profound forgiveness, and strong faith. This story is about the brave woman who married her knight, helped him overcome his dark past and convert to faith, happily bore him two children, and later endures immense pain as she loses everything in her life. She finds peace and new hope through the generosity of a nearby convent of sisters, and with their help she develops a deep union with Christ that greatly inspires all near her.

This movie is not rated, but was created with an adult audience in mind. It may contain violence indicative of the life and times of the saint or character portrayed. We would recommend Parental Guidance and that parents preview it before watching with children.

Movie Night: Fireproof

The last movie before our summer break will be Fireproof. This PG rated movie is a powerful tale of triumph, honor and forgiveness.
Kirk Cameron (Left Behind) stars as Caleb Holt, a heroic fire-captain who values dedication and service to others above all else. But the most important partnership in his life, his marriage, is about the go up in smoke. This gripping story follows one man’s desire to transform his life and marriage through the healing power of faith and fully embrace the fireman’s code: Never Leave Your Partner Behind.

Faith Formation: The Bible Timeline

On May 30th at 7 p.m. we will show the introduction of the video series The Bible Timeline: Finding the Story in Scripture. It will show the Bible as a library, a set of books all by different authors but inspired by the Holy Spirit. More specifically it takes us through the salvation history, from a couple – Adam and Eve, through a family, tribe and a nation.

Daughters of St. Paul

The Daughters of St. Paul are coming to our parish on May 11-12. The sisters will have articles offered for sale from books, to sacramentals (Rosaries, Crosses, etc.) in our parish Hall. They will display their goods after all three Masses for our parish.

Ministry Fair

Ministry Fair: On 11 and 12 May we are also running a Ministry Fair where the various ministries in our
parish would have a table and a representative at hand. This is an opportunity for our parishioners to
know more about the various ministries and volunteer in a ministry of their choosing.
