The Bible Timeline and Catholicism

Before we will be enjoying our summer break, we will have 4 sessions from 2 video series, a) the Bible Timeline by Jeff Cavins and b) Catholicism by Fr. Robert Barron

30 May: Introduction, Finding the Story in Scripture from the Bible Timeline. It will show the Bible as a library, a set of books all by different authors but inspired by the Holy Spirit. More specifically it takes us through the salvation history, from a couple – Adam and Eve, through a family, tribe and a nation.

6 June: Episode 6 from Catholicism: A Body both suffering and glorious – The Mystical Union of Christ and the Church. The Church of Jesus Christ is not a collection of cultural objects d’art, not a stuffy institutional holdover from another age; it is, as the mosaic at San Clemente suggests, a living thing, an organism, a body.

13 June: Episode 7 from Catholicism: Word made Flesh, True bread from Heaven. The Liturgy is the privileged communion with the Lord: it is the source and summit of the Christian life. And therefore, those who participate in it never leave unchanged: they never go back the same way they came.

20 June: Episode 8 from Catholicism: A vast company of Witnesses – the communion of Saints. The Church revels in the variety of its saints because it needs such diversity in order to represent with even relative adequacy, the infinite intensity of God’s goodness.
